The Hurt and The Healer
I don't know if anyone out there is a HUGE fan of MercyMe - My dad is their no.1 fan-, but in 2012 their song " The Hurt and The Healer" was so popular it got on WOW Christian Hits 2012 CD.
Fast foward a year. Yesterday, at the library, I was thumbing through the Young Adult section and I pulled out a book that caught my eye. A paper fell out and as I read it I felt like I was losing all the air in my chest. It was a note, written by a youth like me, but it had so much hurting and loneliness I was shocked and it made me think: there are people in the world who feel like that? Unwanted? Alone? Hated? Unloved?
Now, please don't fume at the little Asian-american home-schooler girl who ignorantly passed on through her life always feeling loved and wanted and cherished by two Christian parents. This letter, read by chance and yet not so, made me see this world in a hugely different aspect. That was when I made my decision.
We can't all sit here, staring at the walls, going on with our lives ignoring those who need help the most. Now, I'm not saying everyone needs to fly to Africa and join the nearest Charity organization, although that's great, but in middle school, high school, and university, when the goin' gets tuff, we can step in and make a difference in hurt people's lives.
We can all make the change. One person at a time, leading the Hurt TO the Healer so they can find ultimate rest in the Savior's arms.

LOL
Lepers are social outcasts. In North America, these are cutters, smokers, drug addicts, bullies, nobodies, and many others we all steer clear of when walking on the sidewalk.
In the Bible, we are called to love these "Lepers" and direct them to Jesus. Think about that!
